HUMBL NFT Gallery FAQs

What is blockchain?

+

Blockchain is a digital ledger of transactions that stores information chronologically. It is duplicated and distributed across the entire network of computer systems on the blockchain.

The term blockchain also refers to how the data is stored in ”blocks” of information and then linked together in a permanent “chain.” When a new block is added to the chain, it makes the previous blocks even harder to modify, which helps each block become more and more secure over time.

Most blockchains are decentralized. What does decentralized mean? No single person or group has control of it, and immutable meaning that all the transactions on the database are permanently recorded and verifiable by anyone.

What is MetaMask?

+

MetaMask is a cryptocurrency wallet used to interact with the Ethereum blockchain. Users can access their wallet through a browser extension or mobile app, which allows users to purchase digital creations in Ether. WATCH HERE

What is an NFT?

+

NFT stands for Non-Fungible Token. Think of an NFT as a digital stamp of ownership used to confirm the authenticity of a unique item. At the moment that stamp is recorded (tokenized) on a secure public database (blockchain), the stamp becomes verified as one of a kind and cannot be modified or copied.

An item is fungible if it can easily be exchanged or substituted and maintain its same value. A dollar bill is an example of a fungible item because it can be replaced or exchanged for 4 quarters and still retain the same exact value. Other fungible items include:

  • Gold
  • Bitcoin or other crypto currencies
  • Casino chips

An item is non-fungible if it cannot be substituted because it has unique qualities that make it different from other similar items. While many NFTs are digital, they can be used to verify the authenticity of real world items too. Examples include:

  • Event tickets
  • Photography
  • Collectibles like trading cards
  • Music
  • Digital art
  • Virtual items like video game skins and avatars
  • Tangible assets like real estate, cars, and even designer clothing

It is that publicly verifiable ownership that makes NFTs valuable because it allows them to be easily and securely traded or sold and allows for a variety of additional uses like:

  • Creator earnings
  • Unlock owner benefits like exclusive access to an event or an experience
  • Chain of custody verification, eliminating ticketing fraud

What is the HUMBL NFT Gallery?

+

HUMBL NFT Gallery connects creators and buyers in the digital economy. HUMBL gives artists a place to create authentic, unique digital artwork, in the form of NFTs. Collectors can discover, collect, buy and sell the digital art NFTs – this is made possible by blockchain technology.

What is minting?

+

The process of registering an item as a token on the blockchain. The minting adds a permanent stamp of authenticity and uniqueness. Similar to the way that physical metal coins are minted and added into circulation, NFTs are also tokens that get “minted” once they are created.

The minting process also adds key elements of value, the unchangeable rules by which that token will function in the form of a smart contract and the chain of ownership. Once a token is minted, it can no longer be touched or altered.

What does the HUMBL NFT Gallery offer?

+

HUMBL lets you buy tokenized collectibles, gaming items, digital art, and other blockchain-based digital items from creators and partners. As a NFT creator, you can list your collection as a buy now or auction. If you would like to have a featured auction please email marketplace@humblpay.com

What is gas?

+

Transactions, such as transfering crypto to another wallet or selling / buying an NFT on HUMBL Gallery, require sufficient ETH in your wallet for the initial transaction and the associated gas fees.

Gas prices fluctuate due to network congestion, and it's important to check websites like ETH Gas Station before confirming a transaction. If gas prices are high, one possible solution is to try the transaction again later when prices are lower.

Please note that not using enough gas in a transaction may result in the loss of the transaction fee. This is likely to happen during popular releases where many users are attempting to purchase a limited supply of NFTs.

Here are examples of transactions that incur gas fees on HUMBL Gallery:

  • Transferring (or Gifting) an NFT to someone
  • Buying an NFT
  • Canceling a listed NFT
  • Canceling a Bid
  • Converting WETH back to ETH, and vice versa.
  • Freezing your metadata.

How much are gas fees?

+

Gas fees will fluctuate, you can get an estimate here: balance checker tool

What Blockchains are supported on the HUMBL NFT Gallery?

+

Users can select Ethereum or Polygon Networks.

What is Ethereum?

+

Ethereum is a decentralized blockchain network powered by the Ether token that establishes a peer-to-peer network that securely executes and verifies application code, called smart contracts. Smart contracts allow participants to transact with each other without a trusted central authority. Users can make transactions, earn interest on their holdings through staking, use and store non-fungible tokens (NFTs), trade cryptocurrencies, play games, use social media and so much more.

What is WETH? (Wrapped ETH)

+

WETH (Wrapped ETH) is a wrapped form of Ethereum which  allows users to make pre-authorized bids that can be fulfilled at a later date without any further action from the bidder. WETH is used to buy and sell with auctions on HUMBL Gallery.

What is Polygon?

+

As a layer 2 solution built on Ethereum, the Polygon sidechain allows users to conduct transactions on the Ethereum blockchain for a fraction of the cost and with greater speed than mainchain Ethereum. In most cases, using the Polygon sidechain significantly reduces gas fees and minting costs for creators and publishers of NFTs.

How do I add Polygon to my MetaMask Wallet?

+

In your browser or app: Go to Settings -> Networks -> Add Network. Then, copy-paste the Polygon network details:

Network Name: Polygon Mainnet

New RPC URL: https://polygon-rpc.com/

Chain ID: 137

Currency Symbol (optional): MATIC

Block Explorer URL (optional): https://polygonscan.com/

After copy-pasting the above details, click save.

How do I fund my MetaMask wallet?

+

Launch the MetaMask browser extension and hover your mouse over the wallet address. Copy the address to your clipboard. Go to your cryptocurrency exchange and follow the instructions on sending funds. Paste the MetaMask address in the “recipient address” field supplied by the crypto exchange

Users can swap tokens directly from their desktop or mobile wallet. The Swaps feature combines data from decentralized exchange aggregators, market makers, and DEXs, to ensure you get the very best price with the lowest network fees.

How do I get started buying?

+

Are NFTs refundable?

+

HUMBL is unable to issue refunds as transactions on the blockchain are irreversible. HUMBL has no ability to cancel, revert, or modify any transactions on the Ethereum network.

What is Verification by BLOCKS?

+

BLOCKS Verification is an additional layer of authenticity providing a certificate of authentication for the lifetime of the NFT. BLOCKS is developing the world’s first “smart grid network” for blockchain. This “smart grid network” will route certain actions via bridges and sidechains. This offers improved synthesis of payments, settlement, and asset verification registries.

What happens when I win an auction?

+

Once you win a bid you will receive a notification confirming you are the winner. The funds will automatically be transferred from your MetaMask wallet to the seller’s.

Why is having my NFT “Verified by BLOCKS” so important?

+

Verifying your NFT with BLOCKS is a technology solution that combats fraud and forgery in the NFT markets, through additional layers of metadata and on-chain provenance.

How can I place a bid?

+

Ensure your MetaMask wallet has sufficient funds and select “Place Bid” next to the NFT. A pending authorization will be placed until the auction closes.

I placed a bid, but it wasn’t accepted. When will I get my refund?

+

No funds were exchanged while placing a bid. The pending authorization will drop once the auction closes.

What if I have pieces that are not minted?

+

You came to the right place! You can mint your NFTs directly on the platform and upload them to your collection. At this time you can only upload NFTs that need to be minted.

Can I remove one of my listings?

Can I create creator earnings on my NFTs?

+

Yes, you have the option to set creator earnings when creating your collection. You can choose to collect a fee when a user re-sells an item you originally created and minted. Creator earnings can be set up to 10%.  This is deducted from the final sale price and paid out monthly to the wallet address provided.
